Techno-Economic Study of Oranga-Revatipur Graphite & Vanadium Block for Bid Advisory

The study involved detailed review of technical documents, geological maps, exploration data, and field reports to assess the potential of the prospect in the Balarampur-Ramanujganj district of Chhattisgarh. A comprehensive site visit was conducted to examine rock types, identify potential mineralized zones, and note existing surface constraints such as types and distribution of settlements, any surface installations, source of water and power nearby to the asset. This study also included an evaluation of land status and a Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) analysis, ensuring a clear understanding of local socio-environmental dynamics critical for sustainable mineral development in the region.

Evaluation from Exploration to Dispatch: Data to Deployment

The project began by determining the available Graphite and Vanadium resource and reserve base, their mining and extensive processing techniques and their respective costs. The team also evaluated if further exploration is necessary, considering the need for additional drilling and assaying. Exploration goals, methodologies and costs were outlined, ensuring that the planned activities align with the expected outcomes. Following this, an evaluation of potential mining strategies and methods were drafted, leading to establishment of the most efficient approach for resource extraction. A conceptual mining method along with its sequence of development in stages was then developed, guiding the operational and financial aspects of the project from initial exploration to full-scale mining development to processing in stages and finally dispatch of processed concentrate to open market for further value addition in battery manufacturing process.

Managing Risks in Production Calendar and Mine Closure

The preparation of a production calendar for mining operations involving detailed planning, ensuring efficient resource (both manpower and machineries) allocation and adherence to mining regulations is carried out. Key parameters evaluated included geological resources, reserves and their losses, mining losses, water requirements, power consumption, land requirements for various operational purposes of mining and processing. The calendar also factors in mine closure strategies, ensuring that operations are sustainable and compliant with statutory requirements. This planning helped mitigate risks, optimize resource usage, and streamline operations. It is crucial for meeting environmental obligations and securing the future closure of mines, maintaining both productivity and regulatory compliance through strategic foresight.

Comprehensive Risk Identification and Effective Mitigation Plans

Effective risk identification and mitigation strategies play a crucial role in financial evaluations, especially in industries like exploration, mining, processing, and logistics. Identifying potential risks such as operational delays, cost overruns, regulatory hurdles, and market fluctuations allow businesses to develop comprehensive strategies to minimize these risks. This information, combined with key financial metrics such as estimation of CAPEX (Capital Expenditure), OPEX (Operational Expenditure), NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return), and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), provided an accurate projection of the project’s feasibility and profitability. These evaluations guide decision-making and strategize resource allocation, ensuring that the project is financially viable and sustainable.
