Orahuri Manganese Ore Deposit – Detailed Assessment of a Potential Alloy Metal Resource in Odisha

Our journey begins with an in-depth study of technical documents, geological maps, and exploration data to understand the level of exploration and unlock the deposits true potential. We went beyond the desk — visiting sites to examine rock types, spot potential mineralized zones, and assess surface constraints like existing developed mining pits, dump yards and balance area for development, existing settlements. By thoroughly evaluating land status, geological reports, conducting R&R (Rehabilitation & Resettlement) studies and also finding out historical information about the mineral prospect, we ensured our efforts are both effective and responsible.

Data Insights from Our Exploration and Field Work

The project, completed involved thorough exploratory data analysis. It combined data from previous exploration work and information collected from recent site visits. The team meticulously calculated and reviewed the probable geological resources and reserves, mineability, evacuation logistics providing vital insights into the deposit’s ore potential.

Exploration Strategy: Assessing Drilling & Budget Costs

We assessed the requirement of further exploration, with a proposed exploration plan and prepared preliminary exploration budgets. Our work included evaluating mining strategies and development of a conceptual mine plan that sets the foundation for successful and sustainable exploitation of the deposit.

Streamlining Production Planning and Closure Steps

From production planning to mine closure activities, every step—geological and mining losses, power, water, risk mitigation, and statutory checks—was assessed. This enabled a robust financial evaluation including CAPEX, OPEX, NPV, IRR, and Discounted Cash Flow. A holistic strategy covering exploration, mining, processing, and logistics has been crafted for long-term sustainability and smart decision-making in the process of bidding for the block.
